The Light for Your Rising – 8 October, 2018

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1 KJV

Have you ever seen or studied
people who rose— to the peak — in some areas of life but dramatically fell? Do you know of anyone who used to do very well in business, marriage, career, finances et cetera but ceased?

There are various ways through which you can rise in life. When you rise because of money, connections, degrees or career, you’re bound to fall. But when you rise because of the light of God, you will keep on rising as the morning star (Proverbs 4:18; Revelation 2:28).

The opening verse says that when your light comes, you automatically arise and shine in the specific area where the light has shone. This is because the light of God produces a ‘spark’ (in your spirit) that puts you on the spotlight— where everyone can see you (Job 18:5).

It also awakens the ‘sleeping giant’ in you. By God’s light your faith is stirred and aroused such that you see the possibilities in everything. You can’t be overcome by anyone or anything. No competition suppresses that which God lights in you.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the power of your light. It is the secret for my rising. Grant me more light in the areas where I am failing to rise— whether it be in my ministry, gift, career, finances, marriage and so on. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
