The Principle of Asking with Apostle Joseph Ziba
“Ask, and it shall be given you…. ” Matthew 7:7 KJV
As a Christian you may have noticed that there are times when certain good things happen to you even before you take time to ask God for them. Such things happen because they are in the eternal purpose of God for you and your voice will not determine whether God should do them or not. But that does not negate the principle of asking.
Certain tragedies happen in life because there is absence of prayer. In Acts 12:1-5, we read of an account of how the disciples of Jesus suffered persecution. Herod took hold of James and killed him and when he saw that it pleased the Jews he went on and took Peter also.
Certain tragedies happen in life because there is absence of prayer.
Apostle Joseph Ziba
Now I want you to take note of verse 5 of that chapter, how the Church responded to the capturing of Peter. The Bible says: “Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.”
It is so surprising that when James was captured by Herod nothing was heard of from the Church. The church did nothing until James was killed. What if James died because the Church never prayed— asking God for his rescue? Coming home to our lives, what if certain (bad) things happen to us because we haven’t prayed?
Learn to trust prayer so much that it can work anything in your life. The Bible urges us to ask. And whatever we ask God for, He says He will give to us (Matthew 7:7). Therefore, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6).
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for providing a platform that I can talk to You through prayer. I trust that whatsoever petition I bring to You in prayer is heard and answered by You. In the Name of Jesus. Amen!
