The Light for Your Rising – Monday, 15th June, 2020

”Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1 (KJV)

Have you ever seen or studied people who rose— to the peak — in some areas of life but dramatically fell? Do you know anyone who used to do very well in business, marriage, career, finances et cetera but ceased after sometime? Have you ever asked yourself what happened to them?

There are various ways through which you can rise in life. When you rise solely because of money, connections, academic qualifications or career, you’re bound to fall. But when you rise because of the light of God, you will keep on rising as the morning star.

You must understand that there are various ways through which you can rise in life. When you rise solely because of money, connections, academic qualifications or career, you’re bound to fall. But when you rise because of the light of God, you will keep on rising as the morning star (Proverbs 4:18; Revelation 2:28).

The opening verse says that when your light comes, you automatically arise and shine in the specific area where the light has shone. This is because the light of God produces a ‘spark’ (in your spirit) that puts you on the spotlight— where everyone can see you (Job 18:5).

It also awakens the ‘sleeping giant’ in you. By God’s light your faith is stirred and aroused such that you see the possibilities in everything. You can’t be overcome by anyone or anything. No competition suppresses that which God lights in you. This is the reason you need to commit yourself to the ministry of God’s word: the more you yield to His Word, the more the light of God comes into your spirit and the more you shine. (Psalms 119:130).

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the power of Your light. It is the secret for my rising. Grant me more light in the areas where I am failing to rise— whether it be in my ministry, gift, career, finances, marriage and so on. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
