Blood of the New Testament – With Apostle Joseph Ziba
”For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Matthew 26:28 KJV
Romans 8 verse 3 says that the Old Testament was weak through the flesh. God, therefore, decided to rectify that weakness by establishing a new covenant with us. And Jesus is the mediator of this covenant.
The opening verse above presents the truth about the blood of our Mediator. It says it’s the blood of the Testament. What does this mean?
The blood of Jesus serves two purposes:
Firstly, it ratifies the New Testament. His blood signifies that the New Testament is now into effect. As such, every word which God spoke regarding us is at work.
The blood of Jesus signifies that the New Testament is now into effect
Secondly, it testifies of Jesus’ death. The blood testifies that our Testator, Jesus, died for us. Therefore, we can freely inherit whatever God the Father kept in store for us.
Righteousness, sanctification, redemption, blessings, wisdom, good health, peace, wealth and so on are your heritage forever. If the devil tries to challenge you in any of these areas, remind him of the blood of the New Testament which purchased everything for you.
CONFESSION
Thank You Lord Jesus for shedding Your blood for us. Your sacrifice has made us to access the precious treasures of God the Father as vital and legal sons. What a privilege that is for us!
