Guard Yourself Against ‘Tares’! – Monday, 31st January, 2022
*But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.” Matthew 13:25
I am sure that there is a day in your life that you received the Word of God which came to you with a strong conviction and with fire. As a result, you boldly went about telling everyone what that Word of God had made you. Surprisingly with passage of time, the fire and conviction you got from the Word subsided. It was as if someone was systematically quenching that conviction in you. What really happened?
You need to understand that it is not easy for the devil to take away the Word of God that you have received and believed.

“…While men slept”, the Scripture says, “his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat…” This is so profound! The enemy referred to here is the devil. You need to understand that it is not easy for the devil to take away the Word of God that you have received and believed. So, to bring confusion to you, he plants his own word, tares, in you. His agenda is for you to have two conflicting view points such that in the end you begin to doubt the authenticity of God‘s Word.
Having known this, you need to jealously guard yourself against hearing any words that may try to negate any Word that God has spoken to you. Such ‘tares’ may come in the form of human wisdom as such you must be discerning to recognize them. It is my prayer that God should grant you a discerning spirit so that you should be able to know when the devil attempts to plant his tares in you.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for opening my eyes through Your Word; my spirit is flooded with Your light. Touch me and empower my spirit to be able to discern any word that may come to cause me to doubt the authenticity and infallibility of Your Word. In Jesus mighty name. Amen!
