He Takes it Personally – Monday, 2nd November, 2020
“For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.” Ephesians 5:23 KJV
In the above Scripture, the relationship of the husband and the wife is likened to that of Christ and His church.
From a biological perspective, the head plays a tremendous role to the body. In fact, four of the five sense organs of the body— the eyes, ears, nose and tongue— are in the head except the skin which to a larger extent covers the body. The body’s role is to respond to what the head has seen, smelt, heard and tasted. We therefore, can conclude that the head and the body are one in general sense.
On the other hand, what the body feels is what the head feels since the brain which processes the feelings is found in the head.
Don’t allow the devil to convince you that you are alone or that no one cares about the unpleasant situations you are passing through.

What happens between the head and the body is exactly what occurs between you (a Christian) and your Head (Jesus Christ). No wonder the Bible says “For we [the body or the church] have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the FEELING of our infirmities (Hebrews 4:15).
With this understanding, don’t allow the devil to convince you that you are alone or that no one cares about the unpleasant situations you are passing through. You are connected to Christ who feels pain too whenever you are afflicted.
That’s why when Saul persecuted the church, Jesus didn’t say “Saul why are you persecuting my church?” He rather asked a personal question; “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting ME?” (see Acts 9:4-5). That’s how Jesus personalises Himself with His Church. He counted Paul’s attack on the Church as His own.
You see, no evil can befall you without the knowledge of your Head Jesus. You cant just be afflicted without Jesus feeling it. He knows what you are passing through and He’s able to deal with your enemy so that you come out victoriously in all circumstances.
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, I’m very happy to know that You care about me. I feel comforted and encouraged to know that I’m not alone even in the worst situations. Jesus feels what I feel. For this reason, I’m certain that I’ll gloriously triumph all battles in this life. In Jesus Name. Amen.
