He Wants You Well – Apostle Joseph Ziba
When the evening was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. Matthew 8:16-17
There are some people who due to their ignorance of the Scriptures and their misunderstanding of the love of God claim that sicknesses, infirmities, afflictions and diseases come from God. You hear them saying, “God has given me this sickness, disease or affliction in order to teach me a lesson or to discipline me”.
But hey, how can such a Holy God do such an evil thing to people? The Bible says if you (human beings) being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will God your Father give good gifts to you? (Matthew 7:11).
What parent when his or her child is misbehaving calls the doctor and says, “Remove one ear or one leg from this child as a form of discipline; he or she is rude”? You can’t do that! So how do you expect God who is called by the name love give you sicknesses and diseases as a form of disciplining you? He can’t do that!
You see, one of the reasons for the coming of Jesus Christ into this world (apart from dealing with sin) was to take away our infirmities and bare our sicknesses. This is what our opening scripture above is assuring us.
Actually it puts much emphasis to say, “and he cast out the spirits with his word, and HEALED ALL THAT WERE SICK…” Did you catch that? If Jesus healed everybody who was sick, then you should know that it is God’s will for you not to be sick. Yes, He wants you well!
The Bible also says, “ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and HEALING ALL THAT WERE OPPRESSED OF THE DEVIL; for God was with him” (Acts 10:38).
God anointed Jesus and was with Him for the very purpose of destroying sicknesses and infirmities. Therefore, when you feel sick don’t allow the enemy lie to you that it’s a form of discipline from God but rather refuse it in the name of Jesus!
CONFESSION
Precious Father, thank You for speaking your mind to me. You want me well. I cannot get sick because that’s your will. The Holy Ghost dwells in me— I have a disease destroying life. No disease or sickness can dwell in my body. In Jesus name.
