After laying the beatitudes in Matthew chapter 5, Jesus came next to say that “Ye are the salt of the earth.” This is not a decoration to what He was saying, one thing you are to take in fast is that Jesus was always consistent and intentional with His words.
The salt of the earth is what you are by being a Child of God. Something to note first is the careful choice of words, He did not say that you are the salt of the world but of the earth. There is a difference between the two that is why we are to be different in these places.
The earth, in short, is about the creation and its inhabitants, while the world is about the systems.
The mistake you can do is exchanging roles and become salt of the word, because the world with its makeup, needs one who can confront it that is why you are to be light there.

Being salt is about adding quality and preserve. This what you have become, you add quality to the earth, you preserve it. As a Christian, you bring impact to your surrounding not just people around you. You display flavours and characters that impact others in a positive way.
The mistake you can do is exchanging roles and become salt of the word, because the world with its makeup, needs one who can confront it that is why you are to be light there. The roles are intentional and significant to the place, never exchange.
The responsibility you carry as the salt of the earth is to remain seasoned, that is to remain relevant. The bible goes on to say that “but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” Once you lose your saltiness, you become irrelevant.
You are called for impact, make sure you are in a state that you are seasoned. This call is a responsibility on your life to remain relevant in the kingdom of God.
You are the SALT OF THE EARTH for impact.
